3 Effective Tips to Cure Acne Pimples
Acne is neither fatal or painful or contagious. But acne is a discomfiting, and at any rate, most unwelcome both from the cosmetic angle and health angle. It is a teenage badge that teenagers prefer not to have. However, one good thing about acne is that because of its non-painful nature you can have a little time to think about its treatment options.
Pharmaceuticals often promise acne miracles with their products and these promises have to be taken with a pinch of salt. Though certain medicines can be effective to a certain extent, the efficacy of any given medicine will depend upon the type of acne you have. Acne can be of different types and could result from different reasons like extra skin oil, or clogged pores, or infection. All these have to be taken into consideration while going in for an acne treatment.
Even if a medicine is effective, it could damage the skin by continued use. And a medicine which is effective for a mild form of acne may be ineffective in the case of a sever case of acne. By and large, natural remedies are found to work well in the case of acne. They are strongly recommended as most of these have minimal side effects and do not cause any long term damage to the skin.
Among natural remedies, there are those which are suitable for external application as well as those suited for internal consumption.
Based on the type of acne that you have, either of these, or a combination of these can be used.
1. One of the good old grandmother’s remedies, which has become very popular as an herbal medicine nowadays is tea tree oil. Application of tea tree oil is believed to have the same effect as the application of any cream or lotion containing benzoyl peroxide of 5% concentration. Tea tree oil has got germicidal properties and can kill acne causing bacteria. All you have to do is apply it twice a day and after a couple of hours wash it off with any mild cleansing agent.
2. Exfoliating the skin at least twice a week can also be helpful in controlling acne. An ideal home remedy for exfoliating is a mixture of oatmeal, lemon, and vinegar, which should be kept applied for about 15 minutes before being washed off. It will scrub off the dead cells of the skin surface which may otherwise clog the pores. The user’s skin sensitivity should be taken into consideration while mixing the paste. Those with a very sensitive skin can minimize the use of vinegar or lemon.
3. Internal consumption of certain natural remedies will also be useful. Drinking about 10 glasses of water a day is recommended for overall body health and for keeping skin hydrated. Taking a little lemon juice with water will be helpful for flushing away toxins.
For those with only mild acne, home remedies may give complete relief. Even for those who suffer from more severe cases, these remedies may ease the problem substantially. So try them, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain!
